A Paypal recurring payment is one that is taken from one Paypal account and deposited into another Paypal account on a regular (for instance monthly) basis. The amount of the payment can be modified or cancelled by both the merchant and the customer. The customer Paypal account must have a valid credit card attached to it.
After a review of the internet merchant accounts available, we found that it was most cost-effective to adopt Paypal as our means of online payments. If a customer purchases any extra support time for instance, the amount for one month can be modified to take that into account, thereafter returning to the usual monthly amount. The customer does not need to use up their cheques or spend time posting them; likewise we do not have to perform credit control which allows us to keep our costs down so that we can still provide our $50 per month service with no design charge.
When you start our monthly support service, we send you a Paypal button in an email. Upon clicking that button, you will be taken to Paypal whereupon you will create a new Paypal account, it is very quick and simple and Paypal have gone out of their way to make it that way for you. Once created, you will enter your credit card details and it will be from these details that the monthly payment will come from.
Your Paypal account must have a valid credit card attached to it so that recurring payments can be made. The Media Farm will soon be requiring Paypal recurring payments as our only available payment option to customers and so if you do not currently have a credit card for your business then we would require you to obtain one before starting our service.
One reason why The Media Farm uses Paypal is so that we do not handle any sensitive financial information at all; Paypal handles everything so you benefit from their secure servers and liability measures.
